Since the old one has reached 1000 entries!!! (quite something and I believe unheard of for a feedback/testing thread) and got locked, I thought I'd create a new one.
Someone mentioned that Spells Galore had opened on Kumos. So I had a look. I won't buy one and I won't buy 25 of any item there. At that price the quests have yet again become pretty unprofitable... Are the new prices intentional in all the shops?
I'm reposting this since I'm still pissed off.
to be ignored with all the others who said no, this is horrible, but Amber says we should still put forth effort to say we don't like it even though someone's mind is clearly made up.
Reducing the number of quests to 3 is, if you will excuse my English, bloody stupid. If the current populace, that isn't in the apparently small percentage of us who do quests, can't be arsed to do three of each quest now, why exactly would they do so in future? I did try out this new system, horrid. Did two and left. The Kumos site in general is not user friendly or smooth or anything. I only go there for the wardrobe since I can't do it anywhere else.
I get the change in number from 30 quests each to 15 whenever that occurred, but 3 or 5 if you have a GA? What will be the point of being on the site then? Do you know how many damn hours I spend on this site?? Do you know why I spend so many hours on this site? I'll give you one guess.
Why is our CHOICE to do as many or as little quests as we like being taken away?
I'd note how many people who pay real world money for gold accounts have told you no, I do not like this and can see themselves no longer paying, have voiced their opinions. Tell me, does this large percent who don't do quests contribute real dollars to this site? Do you have a breakdown of that information? I finally was able to actually start paying for a gold account this year, and now you're making me think I should rethink that choice. How many paying customers are you planning on alienating because you randomly want to change quests?
I am one of those people who for the better part of 17+ years has done every quest every day, it's been harder to do the past couple of years, but I'm getting back into the habit because I like doing them. Yes, they can be quite mindless, but I bloody enjoy it, and in case you haven't looked outside recently, joy is getting hard to find. I wouldn't do it if I found it to be a chore.
Yes, I hoard wizard tokens, sP, and any other currency I can get, why is that an issue? Gods know I will never have this much money in real life, so I'm going to enjoy it in this fake one, I thank you.
I read all 37 pages of this thread last Friday night, having been completely oblivious that someone was trying to mess everything up. To say I got pissed is an understatement. You are not addressing those of us who have legitimate concerns. After about the first five pages it feels like those of us who are displeased have been ignored. It feels like your mind is clearly already set on destroying how we do quests and tough tits to those of us who have been here for years and years and years, here's the door, don't let it hit you in the arse on the way out. That is all I am seeing. As for those of us who have reached the top tiers of the quest achievements, we seem to just be getting thanks, here's a cheap gold watch.
I don't read what the NPCs say, nor do I care. Why not introduce these random NPC quests as the weekend quests instead of selecting one of the current ones to be highlighted each weekend? You could introduce a couple each weekend, let someone decide if they want to do them.
There's too many currencies? Whose fault is that? Combine Recycle Beast and Fragmentizer. Combine Steamworks and Lounge Trinkets. For the love of everything unholy, get rid of the Subeautique Invitations, I cannot stand when those are automatically added to the count. I have 161 of the silly things, they are not that useful and I sure don't use them often enough.
Now that I have made myself irate again... If these past few pages is anything to go by, this new system pays out pennies, it is not an optimal way to keep the economy running and for people to actually make sP, and will just make people hoard more items, and we all know how irritating you find the hoarding of objects.
It's not my politest response, but when someone is out here trying to mess up something, something many of us enjoy, for no discernable reason, well, I get put out.
It seems like there are some hiccups at the moment with pricing on Kumos, but Keith has not stated anywhere that I know of that prices are intended to go up and so for now we should assume this isn't the plan going forward. I do quests on Kumos and Legacy each day, and have found the current Kumos quests to be very profitable! Last week there was a lot of testing and adjusting to make sure the issues with the quests were worked out so that Kumos quests fit the goal of less work for more profit.
The goal is for each quest to be more profitable than its counterpart on legacy, meaning more people will be enticed into doing quests because they are more "worth it". Additionally, each quest giver is only giving 3 or 5 with the intention of having more NPCs involved and giving quests, opening the site to a lot more NPC driven activities which can be useful in plots, events, etc. and can create opportunity for more unique NPC related items and achievements.
In the long run, it's not. There will be many quests to do on Kumos, just like there are on legacy. They are just intended to be a bit easier to do mechanics wise and more profitable to encourage more users to join and stay. We all still have the choice to do as many or as few of the available quests as we'd like to do.
Keith and staff have explained that the goal in making these changes is taking feedback given, especially from new users, and using it to make the site more appealing to people so that Subeta can hopefully thrive again in the future. I know it's hard. I too have had reservations about some of the changes going on around the site, and have been frustrated at times feeling like there's a lot of us saying we're not liking a proposed change and then it goes ahead - but the point is to let the things get tested, tweaked, and truly tried and then give feedback. It's also helpful to remember that there are a lot more people on the site than there are people active on these forums.
The Mabel quests aren't counting i keep doing them but it helps saying 5/5 left, I thought it was an increase in quests but nope it's keeps not counting
New topic, new screenshot (and deleting the past ones)
Here's my personal sP gain for the last 7 days of the month (March 24th - 31st)

I have not encountered the 'infinite quests' bug others have mentioned, but I'm still getting more expensive prices on Kumos NPC shops (sometimes more expensive than the quest initially tells me they'll cost) VS legacy NPC shops (plus my discount card), so something to keep in mind is that I buy off legacy NPC shops and turn in whatever items are in my vault :)
Which will make quests even more expensive (and less profitable) for "normal folks".
Not sure, I like the idea... EVERYTHING seems to be getting more complicated and time consuming than what we have now - and I'm spending many hours here every day, as is :-(
I had a look at the Kumos Spells Galore shop and the prices are appalling. When I do my Kumos Wizard quests I definitely won't be using the Kumos shop.
Runway Ready quests are no longer showing how many reputation points I have earned.
Well, for me the Wizard and Maybel seem to both have gone back to giving me about the same low profit as before the weekend. Not a big fan of that. Would be better if the weekend levels were the norm, in my opinion :/

Dang, I was not aware of that! There's so much communication happening in so many places. can you confirm or let us know where to find a singular official communication channel to keep updated on these things? I'm feeling a little lost trying to keep up.
Can we all just hang out here for this? I'm tired of jumping between Discord, and Kumos, and here. I can make some cookies, someone just has to go to the store and get the milk (and come back with it).
I'm not a quester, but the NPC vs user shop prices affect me who prefers RSing books from Book Nook to save a little on the more 'spensive books. I can't do that if the NPC shop prices are gonna sit there and make the user shop prices cheap instead.

I was hoping it was a whack a mole with the prices yet again, but I don't actually like it (more so bc wizards it's not compensating).
Like what the heck happened that a few users are buying nonstop and stocking thousands of the items, I.e. spell galore? A good rivalry is welcomed and healthy, everyone likes profits but this it's just silly. Is it somehow kind of a protest that I've missed or just plain greed? Sigh
At first I would rather buy from user shops if the difference wasn't that bad, but I will actually spend more time in questing now to avoid these shops than before (which I don't like!!)
biting for all strains!
I have looked at the prices for the Kumos Spells Galore and nobody is going to clear that shop out. I'm not going to buy from it for Wazard Quests, though, so it's a case of having to buy spell items from users who have cleared out the legacy Spells Galore or keep quitting the quests.
Well the items from said shop are are used to gain alchemy levels, which kinda makes sense and is different from my point.
I'm also not talking about kumos since the prices are now matching, no one is making profit from buying there and selling it atm.
biting for all strains!
I didn't explain myself very well. Some players have been emptying the Philosopher's Store so they can sell the items for profit in their own shops. This is now happening where the legacy Spells Galore shop is concerned as you pointed out.
I'm Alchemy Level 54 and I managed that without continually clearing the Philosopher's Store of every single item.
I'm still reading up the last thread, but I'm doing the new wizard quests for the first time and I have a question: at the moment it looks like "User Shop: 10,000sp" And "Search All User Shops" does the exact same thing. Why two buttons? And were they supposed to take me to the shop search? I thought from the main post it was supposed to not hop pages anymore.
Consistent with the past 20 years of Subeta's existence thumbs up
I'm 5 pages in to the last thread- what is the actual current state of NPC reputation/quests/NPC shops? xD There are updates to the system every 2 pages, this is so much info!
Being on Subeta and trying to keep up with Kumos updates is exhausting. Things need to be a little more organized.
Trippple edit: Keith, very excited for some quest changes, definitely really confused on what's in store and what has actually been applied, and it all seems about %20 finished at the moment like every other thing you've decided to update on the site. Mostly just frustrated with trying to keep up with information to test new things. It's really really hard to give feedback on Kumos with the current state of things. I have been really checked out of playing Subeta for this reason; I'm kinda feeling like just enjoying the old site while it's here and then just using whatever new thing is finally released, because trying to keep up with stuff as its implemented is a really tall order, and no part of Kumos is 100% functional...
Questgivers still asking for the very same item several times in a row.
And items still are unclickable/unsearchable if they are in the inventory already.
Like others have mentioned Shopowners are scamming us - charging more, than they originally say. I've just fallen for one, because I only checked the price after clicking too fast. We need police here on Subeta!
I am suspecting Keith has been pushing these new shop updates for a while and just never said anything? That might explain some of those issues, shop-owners having different prices on Kumos... https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/939957/Main-restocking-Shops
Thanks for the link! - though I understand only half of it, lol.
Yet, the stated item price on the quest page should still not change once we're in the shop to buy it.
That is still twice as much as I understand! xD
Oh I see what you're saying. I have barely played around with the new quests, I wouldn't have even noticed. :c
